Comparison

Voxbi vs 8x8: a European operator against a global CX platform

8x8 publishes no pricing. Voxbi publishes everything. An honest feature, hosting and contract comparison, verified August 2026.

Voxbi vs 8x8: a European operator against a global CX platform

The short version: 8x8 is a global unified communications and contact centre platform with a 99.999% financially backed uptime SLA, round-the-clock support and one of the deepest Microsoft Teams offerings on the market. Voxbi is a European cloud PBX from a Luxembourg operator, with every price published on the website. The two do not compete evenly. If you need a contact centre, 8x8 wins and this article will tell you so. If you need a business phone system and you would like to know what it costs before you speak to anyone, that is the case for Voxbi.

Table of contents

📌 We can't compare prices in this article, and we won't pretend otherwise. 8x8 publishes no price for any product on its website. We checked their global pricing page, and the UK page that their own European contract names as the source of "all relevant current list pricing." Neither shows a figure. So everything below is a feature comparison. Voxbi's prices appear because Voxbi publishes them. No 8x8 price appears anywhere on this page, because there isn't one to quote.

8x8's own pricing page, captured 21 August 2026. No price is shown for any package.

Which products are genuinely comparable?

This is the part most comparison articles skip. It's also where most of them go wrong.

8x8 sells five things: 8x8 Work (unified communications), 8x8 Contact Center, 8x8 Engage, communications APIs, and 8x8 for Microsoft Teams. Voxbi has a real counterpart to two of them.

8x8 Work against Voxbi Managed. Both are fully featured cloud phone systems with telephone support, an SLA, analytics, call recording, API access and single sign-on. This is the honest comparison, and it's the main table below.

8x8 for Microsoft Teams against Voxbi's managed Teams integration. Both put real telephone calling inside Teams.

8x8 Contact Center and 8x8 Engage have no Voxbi equivalent. Voxbi doesn't sell a contact centre. It has call queues and ring groups. It doesn't have agent workspaces, routing across channels, predictive dialers, quality management or workforce management. If those words are in your requirements document, 8x8 is a serious option and Voxbi isn't. We'd rather tell you that here than waste your afternoon.

One wrinkle worth naming

8x8 Work includes post-call transcription and AI summaries as standard. On Voxbi, the equivalent feature, Insights, is only on the Enterprise plan, not Business. So the table below has two Voxbi columns. Business is the closest match on everything except AI. Enterprise is the closest match once you need AI too. Comparing 8x8 Work only against Voxbi Business would make Voxbi's price look better than it really is, and wouldn't show what you'd actually need to buy.

Only two of 8x8's five packages have a genuine Voxbi counterpart.

The Microsoft Teams comparison

Both companies put phone calling into Microsoft Teams, and both do it well. 8x8's offering is broader.

Capability8x8 for Microsoft TeamsVoxbi
Direct RoutingYes, for users with a Teams Phone licence, with 8x8 Work available as a fallbackYes, managed, with the session border controller on the operator side
Calling for users without a Teams Phone licenceYes, through the 8x8 app inside TeamsNo published equivalent
Operator ConnectYesNo
Contact centre inside TeamsYes, Microsoft-certifiedNot applicable
Published priceNone publishedYes

The second row is the one that matters commercially. Microsoft's Teams Phone licence is a real per-user cost, and 8x8 has a way to avoid it for some users. If you have a large Teams setup where only part of your staff need outside calling, that's a real advantage, and you should ask 8x8 to price it.

What this costs

Voxbi's pricing is published in full at voxbi.com pricing. All figures exclude VAT.

Voxbi Managed planPer user, per monthFlat rate, per user, per month
Essential5.20 €11.60 €
Professional7.70 €14.10 €
Business11.20 €17.60 €
Enterprise17.10 €23.50 €

The standard price charges for calls using the published rate card. The flat rate covers unlimited calls to more than 130 destinations. It isn't available for call centres, isn't allowed with predictive dialers or automated calling systems, and doesn't include fax.

Telephone numbers are priced separately from users. No Voxbi plan includes a number in the user price. Numbers are bought individually and the rate rises with the plan.

Voxbi Managed planPer number, per monthPer number, flat rate
Essential3.30 €6.50 €
Professional4.70 €7.90 €
Business5.70 €8.90 €
Enterprise5.70 €8.90 €

Buying numbers one at a time works well for a business where a few main lines feed queues and ring groups, because twenty people can sit behind three numbers. It costs more where every staff member needs a direct line, because that's one number each. 8x8 publishes no number price, so we can't tell you which model is cheaper for you.

We won't show you an 8x8 figure at ten, twenty-five or fifty users. We don't have one. Any number we printed would be invented, or copied from a list price 8x8 withdrew years ago. If we did that, you'd be right to distrust everything else on this page too.

What we can do is tell you what to make them put in writing before you sign: which package you need, and whether contact centre seats are priced separately from phone system seats; storage beyond the included recording retention period; which AI features are included and which cost extra; whether any numbers are included at all, what each extra number costs, and the cost of porting; implementation, professional services and training, which 8x8 sells as separate services; your support tier, since enhanced support and a technical account manager cost extra; the minimum term, renewal terms, notice period and any early termination charge; and whether business SMS works in your country at all.

Voxbi publishes four prices. 8x8 publishes a form. Verified 21 August 2026.

Calling conditions on both sides

Both companies limit what "unlimited" means, and both are open about it.

8x8 Work includes unlimited calling to up to 48 countries, but excludes mobile, special and premium numbers in certain countries. Which countries are in the bundle isn't published per plan, so ask for the destination list in writing, and check the countries you actually call are on it.

Voxbi's flat rate covers unlimited calls to more than 130 destinations, with the restrictions named above. Voxbi's standard plans meter calls against a rate card that is published in full.

The honest summary: 8x8 gives you a wider country bundle. Voxbi gives you a published rate card you can check before you commit. Which is better depends entirely on where you call.

Both models have published limits. Check the destination list against your own call data.

Where 8x8 is stronger

The service level agreement. 8x8 publishes a 99.999% uptime guarantee backed by money, covering both unified communications and its contact centre. Voxbi publishes SLA tiers for each plan, but none of them reach that number. If you need a written five-nines guarantee, 8x8 offers it and Voxbi doesn't.

Contact centre. This isn't close. It's a category Voxbi doesn't compete in at all. 8x8 offers automatic call distribution, routing across voice, chat, email, SMS and social media, a smart IVR, predictive and progressive dialers, quality management, speech and sentiment analysis, workforce management, post-call surveys and co-browsing.

Microsoft Teams. Direct Routing, Operator Connect, calling for users without a Teams Phone licence, and a Microsoft-certified contact centre inside Teams. Voxbi does Direct Routing well. It does not do the rest.

Compliance certifications. ISO 27001:2022, ISO 27017:2015, SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS 4.0 SAQ-D, HITRUST, HIPAA alignment, Cyber Essentials Plus and the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit. If you work in a regulated industry and need to give your auditor a list of certifications, theirs is longer than ours.

Global reach. Numbers in more than 100 countries, 34 cloud regions, more than 25 PSTN carriers. If you're opening offices on several continents, this is what you're paying for.

Video meetings. Up to 500 participants as standard and up to 10,000 for large events, with recording, breakout rooms, whiteboarding and live translated subtitles. Voxbi's web meetings work, but they can't compete with this.

Support hours. Round the clock, from seven global support centres. Voxbi's support desk is local and doesn't run all night.

Where Voxbi is stronger

You can see the price. Every plan, every rate and every add-on is published, dated, with no sales call required. 8x8's own European contract tells customers that current list pricing is on its UK website. It isn't. We checked on 21 August 2026, and there are no prices there either.

Odoo. Voxbi ships a native Odoo integration. No Odoo integration is listed anywhere on 8x8.com as of 21 August 2026. If your business runs on Odoo, this isn't a nice-to-have. It's a requirement.

Who you sign with. Under 8x8's own United Kingdom and Europe Supplement, customers at a location in Europe contract with 8x8 UK Limited, a company registered in England under number 05083841, and the supplement states that this English entity is solely liable for the services. Voxbi customers contract with Mixvoip SA in Luxembourg. Both arrangements are perfectly legal. But they aren't the same thing. If your procurement policy or your regulator cares who you're contracting with, it's worth knowing which one you're signing.

Where the data sits. Voxbi runs in Mixvoip's Luxembourg cloud. 8x8 operates data centres across five continents and transfers personal data out of the European Economic Area under Standard Contractual Clauses, governed by Irish law with disputes heard in the Irish courts. Again, lawful and standard. Also different.

Published retention figures. Voxbi states 365 days of call history and 60 days of recording on Business, 730 and 120 on Enterprise, with the cost of extending both. 8x8 describes hot and cold storage without naming the included period publicly.

Local service. Mixvoip operates in Luxembourg, Belgium, France and Germany and will send someone to your building. For a business in the Greater Region, that's often what decides it.

Proportionality. 8x8 is an enterprise customer experience platform. If you're buying a phone system for thirty people, you'll get a lot of software you won't use, and you'll go through a sales process just to learn the price.

We're not saying 8x8's arrangements are improper. They aren't. Standard Contractual Clauses are the normal, lawful way to move personal data out of the EEA, and 8x8's setup is carefully built. The point is simple: a Luxembourg company hosting in a Luxembourg cloud, and an English company running a global platform, are two different things. Only you know which one your organisation needs.

8x8's European supplement also names, country by country, the national telecoms regulator or dispute scheme a customer should approach. That list covers Belgium, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden, with separate clauses for Italy and Spain. France and Luxembourg are not named. Checked 21 August 2026. This does not mean 8x8 has no French or Luxembourg presence, and there is evidence the other way: their ISO 14001 certification covers 8x8 UK and France. It does mean that if you are buying from either country, it is worth asking which regulator and which dispute scheme would apply to you.

Switching from 8x8

If you're already an 8x8 customer, three clauses in their own contract deserve your attention before you plan a move.

Porting out isn't guaranteed. Outside the United States and Canada, 8x8 says it doesn't have to port out your numbers if that would mean porting out a larger block of numbers too. If you hold only part of a number range, check early whether your numbers can leave.

Port-outs can cost money. Where the law allows it, 8x8 can charge an administrative fee for each port-out, whether it succeeds or not. Note the word attempted.

Your numbers can change. With reasonable notice, 8x8 can change a number it gave you, if it decides in good faith that the law or a valid third-party claim requires it.

To their credit, 8x8's European supplement also offers a porting delay credit if a transfer runs late. It's calculated from the second business day after the confirmed transfer date.

Here's a sensible sequence:

  1. Read your service order and find the minimum term, the renewal date and the notice period. We could not confirm 8x8's standard contract length from public sources, so this has to come from your own paperwork.

  2. Confirm in writing which numbers can be ported out and what it will cost.

  3. Export your call recordings and call history while your account is live.

  4. Give notice in line with your contract.

  5. Rebuild your call flows, queues and routing rather than copying them over, since the two systems handle them differently.

  6. Test with a small group first.

  7. Port your numbers, then run both systems in parallel until you're happy with the result.

We won't invent a timeline. How long porting takes depends on your carrier, your country and your number ranges. Anyone who gives you a fixed number of days without seeing your account is guessing.

The sequence is predictable. The timings are not, and depend on your own contract and number ranges.

Questions people ask

How much does 8x8 cost?

8x8 doesn't publish a price for any of its products. Its pricing page sends every enquiry to a quote request. The UK page that its European contract names as the source of current list pricing doesn't show prices either. Checked 21 August 2026. You'll need to go through their sales process.

Is 8x8 better than Voxbi?

For a contact centre, yes, and it isn't close. For a Microsoft Teams setup that needs certified calling and a certified contact centre, yes. For a European business that wants published pricing, Odoo, an EU contracting party and someone who can visit in person, Voxbi.

Does 8x8 work with Odoo?

No Odoo integration is listed on 8x8.com as of 21 August 2026. Their published integrations cover Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Zendesk, NetSuite, Zoho, HubSpot, ServiceNow, Freshdesk and Bullhorn. You could build a connection through their API or through third-party tools. Voxbi's Odoo integration is native.

Who would I be contracting with if I bought 8x8 in France?

8x8's United Kingdom and Europe Supplement states that the entity providing services to a customer location in Europe is 8x8 UK Limited, registered in England under company number 05083841, and that this entity is solely liable.

Can I send text messages from my 8x8 business number in Europe?

8x8 states that business SMS and MMS is currently available for North America, with a separate provision for Australian mobile numbers. Check with them directly for your own country.

Does Voxbi have a 99.999% SLA?

No. Voxbi publishes SLA tiers attached to each plan, and Managed Business and Enterprise carry the Business SLA. 8x8's published availability commitment is higher.

Do Voxbi's prices include a telephone number?

No. The plan price buys the user. Numbers are bought on top, individually. On Voxbi Managed that is 3.30 € per number per month on Essential, 4.70 € on Professional and 5.70 € on Business and Enterprise. On the flat rate the same numbers are 6.50 €, 7.90 €, 8.90 € and 8.90 €. On Voxbi One a number is 1.60 € per month. All exclude VAT, verified 26 August 2026. 8x8 publishes no number price, so we cannot set its figures beside ours.

What is the shortest 8x8 contract?

We couldn't find this out from public sources. Their service terms contain sections on term, renewal and termination, but the commercial detail is not published. Ask for it in writing before signing.

The verdict

8x8 is the bigger, broader product, and for some buyers it's clearly the right choice. A multinational with a contact centre, a large Microsoft Teams setup and an auditor who wants a long list of certifications will find things at 8x8 that Voxbi simply doesn't have, from a 99.999% guaranteed uptime SLA to a Microsoft-certified contact centre inside Teams.

Voxbi is the better fit for a European business that wants a phone system, not a customer experience platform. That runs on Odoo. That wants an EU contracting party and hosting in Luxembourg. And that would rather see the price on a web page than book a call to find out.

The clearest practical difference: you can evaluate one of these products on a Tuesday afternoon. The other needs a sales process before you find out what it costs. That's not a criticism of 8x8's engineering, which is good. It's a statement about how the two companies sell, and for many buyers, that's what decides it.
