Click to dial lets you start a phone call from your Windows desktop without touching a keypad. In the Voxbi app for Windows, any phone number that appears as a clickable link will dial the moment you click it. For numbers that are not links (a figure copied into a document, or a number visible in a window), you can select the text and press a hotkey you configure yourself, and the Voxbi app starts the call immediately.

The result is a small but real efficiency gain for anyone whose day involves calling contacts found in documents, web pages, or business software. There is no number to re-type and no risk of a digit slipping. You see a number, you call it.

How click to dial works in Voxbi

  1. Set Voxbi as the default handler for telephone links

    In Windows default apps, assign Voxbi as the application that opens telephone links. Once set, clicking any linked number in a browser or application routes straight to Voxbi.

  2. Configure your hotkey

    Open the Voxbi app settings and choose the keyboard shortcut you want to use for hotkey dialling. The combination is yours to set.

  3. Select a number and press the hotkey

    Highlight any number visible on your screen (in a document, a web page, or another application) and press your shortcut. Voxbi dials immediately.

  4. Take the call from the Voxbi app

    The outgoing call opens in the Voxbi app, where you have access to transfer, hold, and other call controls as normal.

Frequently asked questions

Does click to dial work in all Windows applications?

It works with any application that renders phone numbers as clickable telephone links. For numbers that are plain text rather than links, the hotkey method covers those: select the text and press your shortcut, and Voxbi dials.

How do I set the hotkey?

Open the Voxbi app on Windows, go to settings, and choose your preferred keyboard shortcut combination. The setting is per-device and can be changed at any time.

Is this the same as click to call?
