Call transcription

Every call transcribed in real time into a searchable written record.

A call transcription is the complete written record of a conversation, word for word. Voxbi automatically transcribes recorded calls so that every exchange your team has on the phone exists as a readable, searchable document, not just an audio file that someone has to sit through to find one piece of information.

This is a different tool from AI call insights, which gives you a summary and topic tags. A transcript is the full text: every word spoken, in order, available to read or search as needed.

When you'd use call transcription

  • A compliance or quality assurance team that needs to verify exactly what was said during a specific customer interaction, without relying on notes or memory.

  • A support team reviewing a disputed call where the precise wording matters, using the transcript to find the exact exchange rather than scrubbing through audio.

  • An organisation that needs to retain written records of telephone conversations for regulatory or documentation purposes, with the transcript as the primary searchable record.

How call transcription works in Voxbi

  1. Enable call recording

Transcription is generated from recorded calls. Once recording is configured in the Voxbi Cockpit, it applies to the calls covered by your recording settings.

  2. Calls are transcribed automatically

After a recorded call ends, Voxbi processes the audio and produces the written transcript using AI-powered speech recognition. No manual step is required.

  3. Find the transcript in your call history

Transcribed calls are accessible through the Voxbi Cockpit call history. You can filter by extension, call direction, type, and time period to locate a specific call.

  4. Read or search the text

The transcript presents the full spoken content of the call as written text, giving you a complete reference you can read, copy, or search to find a specific passage.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between call transcription and AI call insights?

Call transcription is the full verbatim record of everything spoken during a call. AI call insights is a layer on top of that: a structured summary, the main topic, detected keywords, and auto-generated labels. Use the transcript when you need the complete text; use call insights when you need a fast overview of what the call was about.

Does transcription require call recording to be active?

Yes. Transcription is produced from the recorded audio, so call recording must be enabled for a call to be transcribed.

Are transcripts searchable?

Transcripts are available as written text in the call history, which you can read and reference. For searching across multiple calls by topic or keyword, the AI call insights feature with keyword detection is designed for that use case.

What languages are supported for transcription?

Language support for speech recognition depends on the AI model in use. Contact Voxbi or your account team for current language availability.
